Job Description
School Health Professional 1:1 School Nurse
Allen Brook School has an opening for a 1:1 school nurse to work in collaboration with the School Nurse and education team to provide oneonone care to an elementary school student with specific medical needs. We are seeking candidates who enjoy working with students and faculty/staff in a positive and dynamic classroom setting. Candidates must have current unrestricted Vermont Nursing License and appropriate experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist an individual student on a 1:1 basis providing all direct patient care ordered including but not limited to:
- Providing Gtube feeding using pump and syringe
- Providing oxygen therapy via nasal cannula
- Perform vital signs check throughout the day
- Medication administration as needed
- Assess for changes in your students status and respond with the appropriate nursing interventions to ensure the students safety wellbeing and comfort
- Work collaboratively with the students family respecting family preferences and communicating appropriately with the family and school staff
Qualifications:
Current unrestricted and unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Vermont Minimum of 1 year nursing experience preferably in a school or pediatric setting CPR and First Aid certification.
