The Kingdom East School District Student Services is seeking a fulltime 100 FTE School Nurse assigned to Millers Run School specializing in practice of professional nursing that advances the wellbeing academic success and lifelong achievement of students. School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation selfmanagement selfadvocacy and learning. School nurses plan and prepare the schools health related instruction and programming create an environment of health and wellness deliver nursing services and health and wellness classroom instruction and participate and are the schools health and wellness expert professional educationallybased school nurse healthy community The school nurse provides school health services to students in order to integrate health and wellness knowledge and skills throughout the school and curriculum based on knowledge of pediatric community health emergency adult and mental health nursing. School nursing is an independent specialty practice as described in Vermont Agency of Education The Standards of School Nursing Practice.
