Dearborn enrolls students in Grades 312 who have specific learning disabilities and social and emotional challenges. Our rich academic program allows students who have been unsuccessful in previous school settings to achieve substantial gains. Our program additionally includes a wide range of special classes such as music art woodworking/jewelry/metalworking and diversified student support and explicit instruction all combined with our strong clinical component. The Assistant Teacher works closely with Head Teachers to assist in the planning/delivery of classroom instruction and the monitoring/documentation of student progress in addition to providing students with the support they need to be successful in both the classroom and in the milieu. The Assistant Teacher is assigned to both academic classes and specials as well as homeroom and enrichment classes throughout the day.
