McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Environmental Lead Operator position to work at the Burley Idaho plant. The Environmental Lead Operator as a member of the Environmental Team is responsible for the overall functionality of the machinery and systems that convert waste water in drains and sewers into a form that is safe to release into the environment. The Environmental Lead accomplishes this by directing the Environmental Operators the Lab Technician and other Environmental employees as assigned. The Environmental Lead will facilitate and assist with the troubleshooting of any machinery or water and/or wastewater systems. The Environmental Lead Operator ensures compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting requirements. The Environmental Lead is responsible to ensure that the Environmental Team is trained in a timely manner and that the Environmental procedures and documents are compliant with all current rules regulations and laws.
Accountabilities:
Ability to ensure regulatory compliance testing for water and wastewater systems including sample collection testing procedures and scheduling. Collects wastewater samples on a daily basis.
Ensures that all wastewater testing and analysis for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit is completed in a timely manner. Additionally ensures that water quality testing of the Drinking Water System is completed in a timely manner.
Ensures compliance testing for drinking water and performs drinking water tests when needed.
Monitors the system by monitoring chemical additions making changes when necessary and performing various wastewater testing including sludge depths pH sludge age F/M ratios RAS/WAS.
Works with Environmental Team to ensure that job descriptions procedural manuals and job analysis are all uptodate.
Assists with the training of Environmental Operators in lab procedures and other Environmental tasks as needed.
Ability and understanding of the Water Distribution Systems and the ability to operate and maintain the system within the parameters provided for in the rules and regulations of the State of Idaho.
Ability to operate a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system.
Maintain accurate data records on operational parameters daily activities maintenance calibration and collected samples for compliance reporting and operational analysis.
Participates in all audits including those done by state and federal government regulatory agencies.
Oversees the weekly calibration and maintenance of the laboratory equipment and schedules annual calibrations with a contractor. Assists the Waste Water Treatment Lab Technician with lab functions when needed.
Tracks the Environmental Departments use of chemicals and supplies and ensures that the chemicals and supplies are ordered and restocked in a timely manner.
Monitors Biogas buildings and the Covered Anaerobic Lagoon (CAL) sludge for depth pH ranges and gas production within the system.
Monitors the chemical usage for phosphorus removal chlorine dosage and sodium bisulfite for dechlorination to assure that our permit is not violated and to assure that costs are kept to a minimum.
Prepares various weekly and monthly reports needed for compliance with regulations and operational efficiency.
Able to use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to submit notifications look up records in CMMS and verify completion of tasks and training.
Performs assigned tasks in a manner that does not endanger the environment and adheres to company and regulatory standards.
