Base Rate:

$16.87

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New hire experience:

1 of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement up to a fiveyear maximum

New hire education:

1 of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

Class/Calendar:

A129.25 months

Hours:

Fulltime 32.5 hours per week)

OVERVIEW

Perform a variety of duties related to the daytoday preparation and delivery of school food service to students and adults. Will travel to various elementary and secondary schools within an assigned area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Valid Arizona DriversLicense
  • Possess or ability to become ServeSafe Certified within 90 days from hire.
  • Have the ability to perform vigorous physical work and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers school staff and students.
  • Mandatory cash handling and/or register experience or willingness to learn
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to be flexible.

PREFERRED:

  • Have experience in institutional restaurant or school kitchen environment.
  • Have some knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Have some knowledge of food borne diseases.
  • Ability to determine the size of servings and learn necessary requirements to determine a reimbursable meal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent employee attendance is critical to perform duties and responsibilities.
  • Be involved in the preparation and serving of food daily in the cafeteria to include outside serving carts.
  • Operate various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers slicers choppers steam tables ovens etc. as needed.
  • Wash dishes pots and pans equipment kitchen utensils and work area cleanup.
  • Setup and cleanup food serving lines food bars etc.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Handle money for purchase of food and beverage service and operate a register or computerized point of sale to include associated paperwork
  • Conform to District Food and Nutrition and Health Department policies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • May transport food to another location and organize food distribution.
  • May supervise employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Area Supervisor

ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE NOTE:

If offered a position with Food and Nutrition the offer is conditional on the applicant being required to pass a timed agility test. This test includes basic mobility; bending reaching arms overhead and out rotation squatting and kneeling as well as lifting and carrying a 10lb weighted crate pushing a cart with a 20lb weighted crate and lifting a 47lb weighted crate. Exact details of the test will be explained at the time of testing.
