Our Hosting team manages and supports the infrastructure of all our platforms from hardware to software to operating systems to PowerSchool products. This collaborative team helps meet the needs of an evolving technology and business model with a specialized focus on protecting customer data and keeping information secure.

Description

As aCloud Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless delivery of PowerSchools global SaaS applications. You willbe responsible formanaging cloud environments ensuring system reliabilityperformanceand security while leading and inspiring a team of cloud operations engineers.A passion for operational excellence commitment to exceptional customer service and knowledge of generative AI will drive success in this role.

Your daytoday job will consist of:

• Managing 24/7 operations and health of the SaaS applications hosted in public cloud.
• Serve as a leader and coach keeping customer needs at the forefront and providing daytoday oversight to the team.
• Drive continuous improvement withcrossfunctional teams like PowerSchools engineering product services and support to improve customer experience software delivery configuration monitoring and general operation.
• Respond to emergenciesvia Major Incident Management processes ensuring detailed followups with corrective & preventative actions.
• Automate and manage our AWS & Azure infrastructure from web and data layers in both VMs and containers to security groups VPCs load balancers autoscaling and CloudFormation.
• Build solutions in AWS & Azure updating and improving legacy tools and systems to bring them up to date with current technologies tools and processes.
• Scripting & automation for adhoc maintenance or required imperative operational tasks.
• Leadcapacityplanning provisioning and scaling of the application infrastructure including costbenefit analysis of vendor offerings.
• ImplementITIL best practices across various application operations to improve availability security application performance and proactive incident response.
• Improveapplication deployment and upgrade strategies to support our goal of 100 uptime and delivering highly performant Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to our client base.
• Continuously improve ourobservability maturity across our SaaS solutions anddemonstratethe ability to deliver the proactive detection & remediation of issues before they are noticeable to external customers.
• Ensure that operational practices are 100 aligned with PowerSchools information security policies & processes for the safekeeping of all sensitive data.
• Develop highlevel design interaction diagramsand a service catalog for all assigned applications and/or customers.
• Guide and mentor engineers directing work sharing yourexpertise and fostering their growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned including participation in oncall rotation(s).

Minimum Qualifications

• You have a passion for Cloud native technologies and a desire to provide exceptional customer service.
• 3 years managing small to mediumsized technical operations and support teams in service of public cloud deployments of enterprise applications and SaaS solutions.
• 5 years of experience building hosting services in a public cloud.
• Experiencewithcapacityplanning and evaluation of infrastructure vendor offerings.
• Experience with InfrastructureSecurity Automation and Application management.
• Proficient inleveraginginfrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK) and observability tools (Datadog/New relic/CloudWatch/Splunk).
• Working knowledge of docker and docker orchestration: Kubernetes (preferred) or ECS.
• Working knowledge of software code repositories CI/CD pipelines and modern application deployment techniques.
• Experience in managing RDBMS and NoSQL database systems.
• Must have strong organizational skills to handle a heavy workload and multiple projects with frequent interruptions and schedule changes.

• Comfortable using computers and peripherals for extended periods.
• Adaptability to changing work environments and schedules.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $82100 $134600 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicants skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures degrees and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
