The Direct Senior Buyer is responsible for performing strategic and tactical purchasing activities for Stryker Joint Replacement products portfolio in specific Stryker manufacturing sites ensuring a high level of customer service and communication. The role will interface daily with suppliers in ensuring that we have procured the right amount of finished goods or materials from the supplier and will mitigate and adjust requirements based on weekly planning reviews from supply planning. The Senior Buyer leads efforts with suppliers to address product availability issues and ensures that long term supply constraint issues are resolved or escalated when appropriate. The role will work alongside supply plannersproduction scheduling andsourcing in the organization.
What you will do:
Actas the first line of contactwithsuppliers to adjust daily or weekly requirements based on the latest supply plan and as first point of escalation for supplier issues.
Reportsupplier performance based on standard metrics and prepareweekly status reports representing the purchasing function at key meetings.
Track and manageKey Performance Inicators for deliverymateriallead time compliancePurchase orders compression days and past due.
Communicateforecast requirements to the supply basefor finished goodsand/or for components and materials.
Serve as subject matter expert in purchasing activities and systems. Train and mentor other team members as needed to ensure customer needs are met.
What you need:
Required:
Degree level experience Preferablewithin Business/Engineering/Supply Chain management.
Previousexperience in Purchasing Procurement or Manufacturing required.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
Preferred
Previous experience in medical device or other regulated industry
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies
