What You Will Get To Do:
The Assistant Accountant will be key in supporting the daily accounting and financial operations of our Australian business. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team.
Review requisition coding to ensure correct GL account and cost centre allocation
Prepare periodend journals including accruals reclassifications amortisation and cost allocations
Reconcile general ledger balance sheet and intercompany balances
Analyse expenses for tax compliance requirements
Assist with reporting tax and audit compliance tasks
Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of all financial data
Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
Prepare FBT calculations and manage MVL processes
Prepare and lodge BAS returns
Submit Payment Times reporting to the ATO
Assist with income tax schedules and calculations
Manage TPAR reporting to the ATO
Complete annual Workcover declaration
Oversee corporate credit card management (new requests limit increases)
Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements
Provide support for other duties as needed to assist team members and managers
What You Will Bring:
Bachelors degree in Business or Commerce majoring in Accounting and/or currently studying for CA/CPA
Familiarity with industryspecific accounting standards (preferred but not essential)
Indepth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
Strong understanding of Insignias business operations
Proficient in accounting software
Minimum of four years experience in a complex accounting environment
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced autonomous and teamoriented setting
Experience in the software/consulting sector is preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: financial formulas pivot tables spreadsheet management linking data across sheets
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
