Job Description

Life Skills Teacher (Sunrise Academy): Gateway Regional SchoolGateway Regional School District is seeking a passionate and energetic Life Skills Special Education Teacher to join our Sunrise Academy in our school committed to high levels of achievement for all students. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated leadership and instructional skills in the area of program development for students with developmental disabilities. Our Sunrise Academy program is a substantially separate program. Qualified Candidates Must:Have a MA License for teaching students with Moderate or Severe Disabilities RequiredHave a Bachelors Degree Have 3 years of experience in a Life Skills or similar programExperience teaching in a middle school or high school setting (preferred)Strong written and verbal communication skillsExperience completing MCAS ALTs Preferred Hold an unwavering belief that every student can grow and Responsibilities Include:Planning and providing instruction to students in the areas of functional academics activities of daily living social skills community integration and transition planning. Provide ongoing guidance and support for program paraprofessionals. Collaborate with district SLP OT PT nurse and BCBA to develop and write/implement is responsible for chairing all annual review Team meetings which includes presenting the IEP in assigned duties per the staff meetings professional development required training and other meetings during the course of the school year. Collaboration and ongoing communication with families and colleaguesProvide consistent and positive communication with service providers Other duties as requested by of pay: To be determined based on qualifications experience and of Positions: 1
