Business Profile:

WymanGordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all of the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. WymanGordon creates rotating closeddie forgings which are critical for aerospace and landbased gas turbines. WymanGordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe nuclear petrochemical power generation and space applications.

Location Profile:

Located in South Gate CA. Dickson Testing Company Inc. is a fullservice destructive testing laboratory serving aerospace and metallic producers worldwide. Our laboratories serve our customers with metallurgical mechanical corrosion and chemical testing services. In support of these services our facility provides complete specimen fabrication cut off services and heat treat capability.

Position Summary:

With minimal supervision the Mechanical Lab Technician leverages their technical and laboratory experience to setup and operate standard and custom test equipment to conduct specimen testing according to specifications while meeting Safety Quality Productivity and other standards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules (e.g. Quality and Safety).
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Interpret customer prints and specifications for testing procedures.
  • Select the proper fixturing and testing equipment for testing products.
  • Set up and operate standard and custom test equipment including microscopes Instron type force equipment vibration mechanical shock and other mechanical labrelated test equipment.
  • Conduct tests analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews.
  • Conduct product evaluation and performance analysis. Establish performance and reliability of the products being tested.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow work procedures for every specimen tested; cannot deviate from work standards.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities such as crosstraining and testing in other labs.
  • Good housekeeping of lab area and equipment and always a safetyfirst attitude.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and testrelated problems. Escalate when needed.
  • Periodically check and evaluate inprocess procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A technical degree or certification is highly preferred but not required.
  • 1 years of relevant work experience in a mechanical lab.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of PCbased statistical analysis software preferred.
  • Knowledge of contact physics preferred.

For informational purposes only the range of pay for this role is $18 to $21 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only this role is eligible to participate in the Companys Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Companys bonus multiple based on the Companys performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the companys medical dental vision and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Companys 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
