We are looking for a Product Design Engineer to contribute to the mechanical design of our product as well as test and assembly equipment. Fixture and equipment design to support product assembly product performance testing and product reliability testing.
What youll be doing:
Maintenance design testing and improvement of existing products
Interacting with suppliers for DFM feedback part quoting and procurement
What youll have:
5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or product design in a professional environment.
Experience designing assembly fixtures with logical datum schemes and appropriate materials.
Strong engineering fundamentals and problem solving skills.
Expert understanding of design for assembly including tolerance stack analysis.
Knowledge in manufacturing processes with various metal and plastic materials (including machining diecutting diecasting and injection molding).
Expert designing in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and willingness to be handson with prototyping.
Experience creating engineering drawings and solid understanding GD&T tolerances and process capability.
A desire to learn innovate and express your ideas with a positive attitude in a fast moving collaborative environment.
Nice to haves:
Design of components and assemblies for system architectures comprised of a number of complex subassemblies including high power components operating in harsh environments
Interacting with mechanical electrical optical and process engineers to produce designs meeting overall requirements
Prototype design assembly and validation to influence product direction
Experience designing high volume products in consumer electronics robotics medical or similar industries.
Basic FEA experience in SolidWorks or other comparable software.
Experience with JMP and ability to solve problems with distribution based analyses.
Ability to convey ideas through use of clear creative slides.
