JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics a Division I and Big Ten Conference member is seeking two highly qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Director of Strategic Communications.
One positions responsibilities include serving as the sport contact for womens hockey and mens lacrosse and the other positions responsibilities include serving as the sport contact for mens and womens cross country track & field womens gymnastics and serve as a secondary for womens basketball. Assignments are subject to change.
Duties as a sport contact include generating feature content photo video and other unique coverage forGoPSUsports the official website of Penn State Athletics and team social channels; producing online team record books news releases and feature stories; responding to media requests; facilitating social media in line with department goals; staffing home and select away events; supervising student assistants as well as statistical crews and other event support personnel; other duties as assigned.
This position will be filled at the level of Intermediate or Advanced Professional depending on the final applicants experience and education. The Intermediate Support level requires a bachelors degree plus one 1 year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higherlevel positions. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign Photoshop Premiere Spark etc. website content management systems social media platforms and Statcrew/NCAA Live Stats is preferred. Experience in photography recording and editing video is desired. Bachelors degree in journalism public relations or a related field plus workrelated experience in communications or public relations is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills are also required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance is required. Position requires considerable initiative creativity and independence.
A valid drivers license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position including all possible grades is:
$46400.00 $74000.00Salary Structure additional information on Penn States job and salary structure.
