The Direct Care SCHOLAR is a paid position at Saint Josephs University for 8 weeks during the summer at Camp Kinney a summer camp for autistic individuals. SCHOLARs will spend the first two weeks participating in an in depth training program that reviews Autism Applied Behavior Analysis professionalism and much more. During Camp Kinney SCHOLARs are paired one to one with a camper which they will support throughout the days of Camp. Campers are aged 521 and have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Under the supervision of a Graduate Assistant (GA) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) SCHOLARs will contrive learning opportunities for campers to work on skill acquisition goals implement any behavior intervention plans that have been designed by the GAs and BCBAs as well as support the campers in having a fun and meaningful summer. SCHOLARs can be pursuing studies in any field as knowledge gained at the Kinney Center will be generalizable to all employment settings. Joining the SCHOLARs team sets students up to enter a large community of likeminded peers with opportunities for future networking!Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an associates bachelors or masters degree program
Must be able to work in person at Saint Josephs University Hawk Hill Campus
Must be available MondayThursday June 9th through July 31st 94 PM
Preferred
Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder
