Job Description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Massachusetts License as Behavior Analyst
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field (i.e. education psychology social work)
  • Two 2 years of school experience preferred
  • Preferred ability to supervise BCBA and RBT trainees

Skills / Requirements:

  • Must be able to read write and speak English fluently
  • Required to have prompt regular attendance
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Must be able to work independently; follow policies and procedures implement lesson plans developed by the teacher and record corresponding data
  • Must be able to work effectively with interruptions and reprioritize tasks as unexpected circumstances arise
  • Candidate will be Safety Care Trained. Must have mobility required to sufficiently assist students with disabilities with physical needs personal care and behavioral challenges. Must possess the ability to lift push pull and/or carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis and have the ability to move quickly from standing to kneeling and back to standing without using hands to push off the floor. May be required to physically restrain students in situations where there is a risk of serious and imminent harm.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers parents and other care providers to develop and implement student IEPs conduct Functional Behavior Assessments develop individualized Behavior Support Plans and to oversee the implementation of treatment plans
  • Implement and train others on individualized behavior support plans and collection of incidental data and Functional Assessment Data
  • Evaluate the need for and provide consultation in regard to effective reinforcement.
  • Participate in monitoring of treatment implementation and assessment of the treatment integrity
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to develop staff competency
  • Monitor the appropriateness and restrictiveness of interventions and monitor data trends relating to challenging behaviors targeted for reduction to inform parents and other team members of progress.
  • Provide crisis intervention for students with challenging behavior
  • Log student incident reports and time out logs for clinical review team
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers parents and other clinicians in the program to best support the clinical needs of the students.
  • Communicate with families and/or outside care providers regarding student behaviors and their presentation in school to determine the best treatment plans across settings.
  • Attend IEP three year clinical and/or other team meetings to provide behavioral guidance on specific students.
  • Develop and implement skill acquisition programs collect data and revise when necessary
  • Participate in training in relevant areas
  • Provide support throughout the school day to ensure the safety of the children in all environments
  • Provide classroom coverage when needed including providing personal care support as needed
  • Supervise and maintain proper documentation for RBTs and BCBA trainees as needed
  • Carry out other assigned duties for example clerical tasks such as data entry copying etc. as assigned by school administrators or executive director.

Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.
