Title: Substation Physical Designer
Location: Remote US

ICF is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to work on the physical layout design of high voltage substations at voltages from 12kV to 500kV with the goal of providing excellent quality work for our clients.

The Ideal Candidate
You are a highly motivated engineer who takes pride in the services you provide. You ensure the project is done right and all deadlines are met. You should be proactive selfsufficient and able to productively work out of your home without direct supervision. What you will be doing:
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to the design and preparation of the following Substation Drawings:
- Substation One Lines and Three Lines
- Station General Arrangements & Sections
- Electrical Details
- Grounding Plan & Details
- Conduit Plan & Details
- Control Cubicle Layout Sections Cable Tray Lighting and Grounding
- LowVoltage AC Panels
- Grounding
- Lightning Protection
- Illumination
- Development of Bill of Materials based on Design Criteria
- Coordination with protection & controls civil / structural and drafting disciplines to ensure quality deliverables
- Participate in client meetings and perform site visits for data gathering as required
- Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables
- Apply client standards related to the work
- Perform/ensure companys Quality assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are being followed on all design packages
- Continuous improvement of jobrelated engineering technical and professional knowledge skills and performance
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
- Associates degree in Drafting or high school diploma and 2 years of drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
- 3 years of experience in substation physical design with Inventor 3D AutoCAD Bluebeam and MicroStation
What we would like you to have (professional skills):
- Ability to prioritize work while working in multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Associates degree in Computer Aided Design
- Substation 3D modelling and design using Autodesk Inventor
- Advanced user of Microsoft products specifically Word and Excel
- Knowledge of substation design techniques tools and principles involved in the production of technical drawings and models.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology including the ability to relate various equipment to technical design.

Pay Range There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
