Job Description
Quincy Catholic Academy a vibrant Catholic School (PreK through grade 8 seeks a dedicated and versatile school counselor to serve the school community. Qualifies candidates must have a desire to work with students between the ages of 5 to 13 with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their educational and socialemotional goals. In addition the counselor must have the ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied responsibilities and communicate effectively with students parents administrators and teachers including the ability to discuss sensitive topics. The counselor will be responsible for implementing socialemotional lessons for grades 18 through planned activities in the classroom and working oneonone or in small groups to support students as counselor should have a working familiarity with student assessment tools especially evaluating and interpreting test results. Ideally the counselor will have a heart for service and a desire to be part of a school culture which teaches to the whole person mind body and spirit. Qualified candidates should have a masters degree (or willing to pursue) in Social work or related field. Experience working in a school setting is a plus.
