Supervises campers and ensures their safety development growth skill achievement and general wellbeing. Maintains a schedule for camp participants. Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.

$15.00 $16.50 per hour
One of the following:
a. Thirty semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university with six semester hours (or nine quarter hours) related to schoolage child care child development elementary education physical education recreation camping or other related fields; OR
b. 1560 clock hours of experience in a recreational program or licensed day care center serving schoolage children or a license exempt schoolage child care program operated by a public or private school and six semester hours (or nine quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university related to schoolage child care child development elementary education physical education recreation camping or other related fields; OR
c. 3120 clock hours of experience in a recreational program kindergarten or licensed day care center serving schoolage children or a license exempt schoolage child care program operated by a public or private school
Variable between the hours of 7:45am and 5:15pm late May through midAugust

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans 403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.

Applicable parttime work experience will be considered toward qualifying for this position; however it will be converted to a fulltime equivalency to determine combined length of experience.
