Job Description Summary
Reporting to Russell Boast CSA Head of Casting & Director of Screen Acting Program. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated student worker to assist Russell Boast CSA Head of Casting and Director of the Screen Acting Program with various administrative and outreach tasks related to casting and actor relations. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in the film industry particularly in casting and production.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Actor Outreach: Assist in reaching out to professional actors and talent agencies to solicit participation in student films. Maintain and expand a database of professional actors and talent agencies. Prepare and send out casting calls and information packets on behalf of student filmmakers. Do outreach to local acting studios theatres etc. Database Management: Maintain and update databases of actors casting professionals and industry contacts. Organize and categorize actor resumes headshots and demo reels. Ensure accurate and uptodate information within the databases. Student Film Support: Assist Dodge Filmmakers in conjunction with the supervisor in finding suitable actors for their class projects and student films. Communicate with student filmmakers regarding casting needs and actor availability. General Administrative Support: Respond to inquiries from actors and industry professionals. Schedule meetings and appointments. Coordinate workshops with SAG AFTRA agencies management companies and other industry casting service providers.
Required Qualifications
Current Chapman University student in good standing preferably a freshman or sophomore to maintain consistency throughout their time at Chapman. Strong organizational and timemanagement skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook Google Docs Breakdown Express and other casting sites). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Interest in film actors and casting is highly desirable. Experience with database management is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
