You will provide transformational crossfunctional leadership innovation planning and market awareness that will result in the acceleration of revenue and profit generating initiatives. This individual will leverage the Ford Operating System to ensure nearterm strategic initiatives are developed with the appropriate stakeholders and informed by data and market insights to inform leadership decisioning.You willlead the efforts of Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) to ensure all nondimensional materials and certain dimensional materials (e.g. friction materials) purchased or sold to Ford dealers distributors and customers can be used safely and appropriately labeled as well as compliant with the United States and Canadian applicable laws / regulations and the Corporate standards.
**This position is located in Dearborn MI and is a hybrid role coming into the office 12 days a week
ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will:
- Assist Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) Chem/Toxicology team in conducting toxicology regulatory and environmental reviews for all service chemical products.
- Work closely with Ford Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Compliance Office Environmental Quality Office (EQO) International Distribution Operations (IDO) and suppliers to develop GHScompliant SDSs and labeling statements using the GHS SDS Authoring system.
- Provide toxicology and regulatoryrelated advice to other regional FCSD Toxicology teams (e.g. International Markets Group (IMG) and China market) and FCSD Managements.
- Perform various regulatory compliance actions at the federal state local and provincial levels.
- Provide toxicology support to Ford Customer Service Division FCSD management and engineers on the acute and chronic health effects associated with chemicals contained in or associated with Motorcraft branded materials for dealer and customer use.
- Oversee Utah Poison Control Center (UPCC) contract review quarterly reports on various human / animal poison exposure cases and provide advice according to government regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
- Review and analyze supplier chemical data guide Material Safety Data Sheets (M)SDS/warning label preparation conduct scientific literature research quantitative risk assessment and management as well as communicate with government agencies (e.g. OSHA WHMIS CCCR CPSC) on regulatory requirements.
- Represent Ford Customer Service Division on reviewing evaluating and interpreting current scientific literature agency reports research data and investigative reports from laboratory studies clinical studies medical findings human exposure cases and poisoning data for soundness of reasoning scientific significance and validity of assumptions and conclusions from a toxicological viewpoint.
Engage the Industry At All Levels Across All Stakeholders
- Soliciting collecting organizing and conducting preliminary reviews of supplier datasets (e.g. Manufacturer Product Information Request (MPIR)/Subsupplier Product Information Request (SPIR) forms SDSs and labels).
- Perform data quality checks on suppliers submissions and documents contact and follow up with suppliers for additional chemical and other necessary information.
- Provide hazard classifications for postproduction materials based on GHS CPSC and CCCR criteria. Create Toxicology Review Comments.
- Conduct scientific literature research and perform ad hoc quantitative risk assessments for chemicals listed under California Proposition 65 as necessary.
- Serve as the FCSD representative on the corporate RSMS committee review chemical substances and conduct necessary chemical impact assessments as needed.

QualificationsYoull have:
- 35 years of experience in Occupational Healthand GHS hazard classifications SDSs/labeling statements authoring/Reviewing experience.
- Minimum masters degree in toxicology or industrial hygiene is preferred. Masters degree in chemistry or environmental science is also accepted.
- Received formal training in GHS hazard classification and labeling consumer product labeling SDSauthoring and/or California Proposition 65 labeling and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience and understanding of OSHA CPSC WHMIS CCCR TSCA NSNRs regulations and GHS hazard classification requirements.
- Excellent personal computer skills including Word Excel Outlook and Adobe.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills required.
Even better you may have:
- Proficiency in the Canadian French language is a plus.
- Safety Data Sheet Authoring Certification preferred
