Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Executive Assistant to support the Office of the CE in driving key strategic initiatives and ensuring smooth operations. In this vital role you will manage schedules coordinate meetings handle communications and provide highlevel administrative support.

Organisational Profile

GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff GEGAC is a NotforProfit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health Social Services Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.

GEGAC advocates for the selfdetermination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that enhance social emotional and spiritual wellbeing with culture at the heart of everything we do.

Position Purpose

The Executive Assistant to the Office of the Chief Executive (CE) provides comprehensive highlevel administrative and strategic support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Deputy CEO. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth functioning of the executive office by managing complex calendars coordinating key communications facilitating internal and external engagements and supporting the delivery of strategic priorities. Acting as a trusted partner and point of coordination the EA ensures alignment discretion and efficiency in all activities related to the Office of the CE. The position requires a proactive detailoriented and highly professional individual capable of operating with a high degree of confidentiality and sound judgment in a fastpaced dynamic environment.

Key Selection Criteria

Proven experience as an executive assistant or in a senior administrative role preferably in a nonprofit or communityfocused environment.

Excellent organisational timemanagement and multitasking skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and familiarity with office management tools.

Experience managing confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

A proactive solution oriented mindset with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently demonstrate inintiative and remain adaptable in a dynamic work environment.

High level of cultural competence and understanding of the issues affecting the Aboriginal community.

Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).

A Diploma or Degree in related Business Administration field. DESIRABLE

A relevant qualification in business administration or a related field ESSENTIAL

Valid Driver licence ESSENTIAL

A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL

A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE

Proof of COVID19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
