Job Description

Position Summary
Roosevelt University invites applications for a tenuretrack position in Criminal Justice at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate criminal justice courses both in the classroom and online participate in the development of curriculum advise students and engage in service activities.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have completed a PhD/ ABD in Criminal Justice Criminology or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong theoretical foundation be comfortable with multidisciplinary perspectives have an interest in applied criminal justice policy and have the ability to bridge applied research to daily practices. Exceptional applicants who are ABD and nearing completion of the dissertation also will be considered. Applicants are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching comfort with working in an environment that fosters diversity and the ability to use technology effectively in teaching. The position begins August 15 2015.A strong research and teaching interest in corrections is preferred but a generalist broadly trained in criminal justice will be considered.
