Job Description
Otak is seeking a talented Bridge Designer/EIT to join our dynamic team. Renowned for excellence in smart growth planning sustainable design and innovative transportation solutions Otak is at the forefront of shaping resilient infrastructure.
As a Bridge Designer/EIT youll contribute to a wide range of projects including vehicular and pedestrian bridges and other critical structures. Youll work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop contextually appropriate designs that blend seamlessly into existing environments while meeting the diverse needs of the community.

What youll do:
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis for transportation related structures including vehicular and pedestrian bridges retaining walls buildings landscaping structures and civil structures under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
- Communicate with other disciplines and with clients through reports phone calls memorandums etc.
- Prepare engineering sketches and drawings by hand and in CAD for use in construction drawings.
- Support construction projects including reviewing construction submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and responding to requests for information.
- Participate in structural inspections including climbing hillsides and on ladders crawling through openings sometimes in inclement weather.
What you have:
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public highway bridge design and construction support projects.
- EngineerinTraining (EIT) certification or successfully passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is required.
- Knowledge/experience in bridge and structural engineering experience with WSDOT and AASHTO Bridge standards and specifications is desirable; interest in familiarizing with these codes is required.
- Proficient in structural design software and AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus and will be a requirement of training in this position.
- Solid understanding of structural mechanics and construction details.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
The salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience qualifications and work location as well as market and business considerations.
Salary Range: $72000$97000 per year
