Job purpose

PHINIA is currently looking for a dynamic results driven individual to join as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy MI.

This person will primarily be responsible for working with engineering teams to develop remanufacturing programs for commercial vehicle Fuel Systems and providing support to the responsible product lines.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with Engineering Teams to develop remanufacturing programs for commercial vehicles (Fuel Systems Smart Remote Actuators Diesel Injectors and HighPressure Pumps).
  • Apply reverse engineering to develop new processes development of repair and rework strategies.
  • Develop Assembly & Test strategies for remanufactured products.
  • Procure new equipment for current and future products
  • Good data analysis & reporting skills. Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will be involved in new program launches to understand reclaim potential for future remanufactured programs.
  • RFQ and Capex management for new assembly and test projects
  • Develop Statement of Work for processing components and assemblies. Teardown Assembly Functional Test.
  • Data analysis skills required to develop process capability and reliability
  • Experience in LabVIEW and C# for in house process development
  • Development of new CAPEX equipment projects with external suppliers from the design phase to product launch and highvolume production.
  • Design of industry leading manufacturing processes to fulfil evolving customer requirements.
  • Development of manufacturing processes including the creation of process documentation product and process risk assessments maintenance procedures and training documentation.
  • Continuous improvement of the hardware and software used for manufacturing processes balancing commercial requirements with customer needs.
  • Assures product and process quality and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decisionmaking information by calculating production labor and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Responsible for developing test methodologies for competitor components / products.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturers instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

What were looking for

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field required
  • 3 years of experience in design and/or manufacturing of automotive components.
  • 1 years of proven experience with handson Operations support
  • 1 years of experience with debugging or deploying Vision systems Torque Drivers NI acquisition Hydraulics / Fuel systems Pneumatics
  • 1 years of experience with MS Office Solid works.
  • 1 years of experience with CAD/CAM software
  • 1 years of experience with SPC and MSA
  • LabVIEW C# Minitab(or similar data analysis tools) SQL Experience
  • Understanding of AIAG standards
  • Remanufacturing Experience with Diesel Fuel Systems preferred
  • Preferred Experience with Engine subsystems and devices (Diesel FIE Diesel Fuel Pumps Smart Remote Actuators EGR Valves ECUs Control Modules Solenoid control using PWM.
  • Proven Mechanical handson experience required
  • Proven problemsolving skills using data driven & statistical analysis tools required
  • Proven Assembly & test manufacturing experience and proven process development.
