Purpose of PositionAssistant Coaches are responsible for fulfilling the mission of Des Moines Christian School by equipping the minds and nurturing the hearts of student athletes through their physical emotional mental and spiritual development. This position supports the Head Coach in the implementation of sportspecific fundamentals and content area that is appropriate for the grade level being coached. Position: Parttime; seasonal schedule according to sports seasonStipend PayReports To:Head Coach / Head of Activities Evaluated By:Head Coach / Head of ActivitiesQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent coaching experience authorization with the State of to lift 30 believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and committed to growing in relationship with Him. In agreement with the Des Moines Christian School Statement of Faith agreement with the Des Moines Christian School Biblical Convictions for Christian attends and is actively involved in a church that affirms historic Christian orthodoxy (doctrine faith teaching practice) consistent with the DMC Statement of Faith through that churchs public creed confession core beliefs or statement of faith. Attends coaching clinics that would be beneficial to the effective communication with athletes parents and school policies regarding student eligibility and/or code of conduct to maintain standards within the specific sport as outlined by the State of :Assists the Head Coach (HC) in all phases of their specific athletic cooperatively with coaching staff in decision making/problem solving and is supportive of decisions made by the trusting productive relationships with students in order to create a safe positive and productive team in developing athletes physically emotionally mentally and effectively with players parents administration and the HC with program purchases and equipment needs. Coordinates with coaching staff and facilities team in the proper care and management of facilities and to the policies and practices outlined in the DMC Coaches other duties as assigned by the HC or Head of Activities.
