We are currently seeking experienced IRATA Rope Access Industrial Insulators for work in Ft. Saskatchewan.
Responsibilities
- Removal of insulation in preparation for EHT troubleshooting repair and replacement via rope access.
- ReInstallation of insulation postcompletion of EHT scope via rope access.
- Field fabrication of fittings as required (i.e. gores end caps bevels and tees.
- Perform additional rope access duties as pertaining to your IRATA training level (aid climbs rigging rescue hauling and lowering etc.
- Responsible material handling tracking storage and disposal.
- Work closely with other trades to accomplish mixed work scopes in professional and timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of quality assurance and control of insulation removal/replacement.
- Adhere to site specific rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Industrial insulation experience
- Strong knowledge of insulation materials
- IRATA L1 or IRATA L2
- Maintenance experience
- Read and understand drawings an asset
- Drug and Alcohol testing required
- CSTS
- WHMIS
- Valid government issued drivers license
- Fall Protection
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality control/assurance

Working Conditions
- Work both indoors and outdoors in a live operating refinery upgrader and chemical plant
- CSA approved steeltoed safety boots will be required
- Drive every day to site (no camp available) potential for ridesharing and carpools
- Mon Thurs 10 hour days with opportunity of extended hours into shutdowns
- Work as part of a cohesive team of technicians towards a common goal
- Able to attend and pass sitespecific orientation and training as required
Physical Requirements
- Good general physical fitness required to perform IRATA techniques
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for handle or manipulate objects
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
- Climb up and down ladders scaffolds and other objects
- Work at all necessary heights
- Work in tight areas
