Your work environment at EXP

In this role you will be a part of the Infrastructure Transportation business practice in the Mid Atlantic Sector based in Washington DC. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers and project managers to deliver highquality engineering solutions for various bridge projects. Project types will be diverse and include but not be limited to new structures rehabilitation of existing structures and inspections and load rating of existing structures including bridges culverts retaining walls and transit/railway facilities. The projects will involve a wide variety of structure types foundations and materials for clients such as DDOT VDOT MDOT WMATA Utility Owners Federal Agencies Private Developers and Metropolitan Washington Local Governments and Municipalities.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Assist in the design and analysis of bridge structures using relevant software.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and evaluations of existing bridge structures to assess condition and compliance with safety standards.
  • Prepare engineering reports design documents and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met on time and within budget.
  • Support project management activities including scheduling cost estimation and quantity estimation.
  • Stay current with industry trends regulations and technologies related to bridge engineering.

What your experience looks like

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • EIT Certificate or proof of passing NCEES FE exam.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bridge engineering or structural design.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (e.g. AASHTO AISC ACI ASCE 7.
  • Proficiency in engineering drafting (e.g. MicroStation AutoCad or similar).
  • Proficiency in engineering calculation tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel MathCad or similar).
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

The pay range for this role is $75000 to $105000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
