Salary Range:
$43050 $71673 per year (Based on experience and qualifications)

Job / Teaching Assignment Overview:
NCCAHS is expanding an already dynamic CTE program in an effort to continue leading the state with virtual CTE instruction and experiences. This NEW position is part of this exciting expansion and tentative courses assigned to this position may include but are not limited to: Health Science 1 HU41 Health Science 2 (HU42 and/or Biomedical Technology (HB11. These courses will contribute to a students pursuit and ultimately the completion of the Biomedical Technology (BTCP) and / or Healthcare Professional (HPCP) Career Pathway as determined by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
We are seeking a dedicated Health Science Teacher to join our expanding CTE program. The teacher will provide engaging student centered instruction to high school students in foundational healthcare concepts medical terminology anatomy & physiology and healthcare career pathways. The instruction will be presented synchronously Monday Thursday and asynchronously on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with North Carolina CTE Health Science standards.
- Teach courses such as Health Science I Health Science II and Biomedical Technology.
- Prepare students for industryrecognized certifications (e.g. CPR CNA First Aid).
- Provide learning opportunities and simulations.
- Integrate technology and realworld applications into instruction.
- Collaborate with local healthcare professionals postsecondary institutions and industry partners to enhance student learning.
- Support students in career planning internships and workbased learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate student records grades and required documentation.
- Participate in professional development and stay updated on industry trends.
- Engage with parents colleagues and the community to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Health Science Nursing Allied Health or a related field (Required).
- Certification: North Carolina CTE Health Science Education 710 teaching license OR eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience / Preferences:
- 2 years of teaching experience
- Experience in the healthcare field (e.g. RN Paramedic Medical Assistant) (Preferred).
- Experience teaching in a virtual or remote setting (Preferred)
- Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas (Preferred)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- MUST be a North Carolina resident to be considered for hire must maintain North Carolina residency while employed by NCCA
Work Location:
Hybrid / Remote approximately 9095 per month. School Office located in Durham NC 27713
