The School

The role is within our School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programminginFine Arts Humanities and Social Sciences Sciences and Animal Health Technology. Through this programmingwe offer a variety of certificates diplomas university transfer coursesas well as a degree in computing science.

The Role

The successful candidate with teach in NWPs new Power Engineering Technology Diploma program located at the Grande Prairie campus. This is a fulltime tenuretrack position based on favorable evaluations and budget.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate 2nd class preferred). Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

• Five 5 years of applied experience is preferred.
• Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
• Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g. videoconferencing D2L) are desired;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Highly qualified faculty who seek to continuously improve instruction and meet the need of learners;
• Willingness to work with and support the Centre for Teaching & Learning;
• Student Focused;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
• A high level of integrity professionalism and accountability.
