About the role

As the Coordinator Indigenous Student Engagement youll have the opportunity to develop and deliver programs that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to succeed. Youll work closely with internal teams student groups and community organisations to strengthen Indigenous student belonging engagement and achievement.

Your role will focus on:

  • Creating and delivering initiatives that support Indigenous students transition engagement and success at university.
  • Building strong relationships with key Indigenous organisations community groups and university partners to enhance student experiences.
  • Organising events mentoring programs and activities that connect Indigenous students with each other and the wider university community.
  • Providing practical support and guidance to students ensuring they have access to resources opportunities and networks.

You understand the challenges and opportunities facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment. Your strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills will help you connect with students staff and community partners while your ability to manage projects will ensure Indigenous programs run smoothly and effectively.

Youll bring:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a professional or voluntary capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with students families Elders and community organisations.
  • The ability to develop deliver and coordinate student support initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
