About the Position

Are you a master organizer and multitasker Consider applying for our Sheriffs Record Specialist position.

The Sheriff Record Specialist assigned to the Tax Unit provides collection efforts for delinquent personal property tax. This role plays an integral part in providing compliance support for the MCSO which is mandated by the Constitution Arizona Revised Statutes Federal Statutes and other local ordinances. This position specializes in researching ownership preparing and processing documents and case management throughout the tax collection process.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Two 2 years of experience performing office or administrative duties.

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications

  • Postsecondary education may substitute for the required experience on a yearforyear basis.

Other requirements

  • In order to be considered for employment with the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office successful candidates must not have a revoked or suspended drivers license.
  • Training that may be provided onthejob: FEMA NIMS IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA.
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute as a condition of employment. Typing certificates obtained or available on the internet are not acceptable for verification of typing speed.
  • Prior to hiring the Sheriffs Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Two 2 years of responsible law enforcement delinquent personal property tax or collections/billing related experience.

Compensation is more than a salary with MCSO:

Work occurs primarily indoors working in MCSO jail facilities with various staff and all classifications of inmates.

The job involves teamwork and interacting with all levels of County management and personnel as well as the public. Responsibilities require concentration accuracy ethical conduct and a professional demeanor.

Typically successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to midpoint of the range based on applicable experience internal equity and budgetary allowances.
