Job Summary
The Transitional Services Advocate is a dynamic and compassionate professional dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence (DV) using a traumainformed strengthsbased approach. This role promotes selfsufficiency empowerment and confidentiality while helping participants navigate housing and vocational challenges. The Advocate will also play a key role in developing and maintaining community partnerships and property management relationships to expand housing access and supportive services.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive advocacy and case management to survivors of domestic violence focusing on housing stability vocational development and overall wellness.
  • Conduct housing assessments and offer individualized navigation assistance life skills coaching and peer support.
  • Implement mobile advocacy for Operation Fresh Start (OFS) RapidRehousing program participants to support progress toward longterm stability and a violencefree life.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop survivorcentered action plans that align with program goals and survivor autonomy.
  • Uphold traumainformed culturally responsive and survivorled practices that support confidentiality empowerment and safety planning.
  • Promote the principles of the DV Housing First model by eliminating barriers to housing and ensuring survivor involvement in decisionmaking processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local property managers landlords and subsidized housing programs to increase housing availability and secure placements for program participants.
  • Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with community organizations service providers and housing networks to expand supportive services and resource access for survivors.
  • Screen and process internal and external housing referrals ensuring compliance with qualifications documentation and coordinated entry requirements.
  • Utilize the Clarity HMIS system to complete DV Housing Assessments and manage Matrix enrollment through the Clark County Coordinated Entry system.
  • Provide ongoing case management and regularly update survivor progress through accurate data entry and documentation in designated databases.
  • Assist in the facilitation of life skills classes workforce development initiatives and housing workshops.
  • Actively participate in interagency workgroups coalitions and Continuum of Care (CoC) meetings to advocate for survivor needs and influence systemslevel change.
  • Submit timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reports as required by the Resident Advocacy Director.
  • Collaborate respectfully and effectively with team members maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Stay current on local domestic violence resources housing opportunities and best practices to ensure survivors receive highquality support.
Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills adaptable to diverse audiences.
  • Empathetic compassionate and caring approach toward all survivors.
  • Proficiency in establishing and maintaining relationships with allied organizations and service providers.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite databases email and Internet usage.
  • Ability to adapt to change manage competing demands and make critical decisions effectively.
  • Commitment to ensuring security and confidentiality of clients and their families.
  • Skilled in practical critical thinking strategies.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Possess a valid NV license.

Education:
  • Associate Degree in Human Services Housing Public Administration or Related Field.
