Instructional Support Paraeducator Behavior Teach supports students with challenging behaviors by implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Responsibilities include executing behavior interventions collecting data collaborating with staff modeling behavior management techniques and assisting in crisis situations to promote student success and safety.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Under direction of a certified teacher instructs students and adapts curriculum to meet needs of students. Duties include: administering tests and assessments; monitors students IEP progress; and documents behavior progress and results of student activities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and one year of educational or clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require):
Licensing Requirements:
Title Schools: 60 hours of secondary education or successful completion of the Paraprofessional test;
Special Needs: Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Applicants recommended for hire will receive instructions on how to obtain a fingerprint clearance card as a condition of employment.
KNOWLEDGE: (position requirements at entry):

Monitoring and assisting children with activities;

Interpreting and applying applicable laws rules and regulations;
Preparing simple memos letters and/or other related written correspondence;
Reading and interpreting routine information from schedules memos and/or other written documentation;
Communication interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisor the general public etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking lifting finger dexterity grasping feeling talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to odors extreme temperatures and intense noises.
