Senior Procurement Manager Chemicals
Located in Houston Texas the Senior Procurement Manager will work closely with the General Manager of our Chemicals business the Supply Chain Director and broader leadership team. The incumbent will oversee and manage procurement operations within the Chemical Division ensuring global direct and indirect category strategies are implemented at the right total cost of ownership.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Secure supply of key raw materials (butadiene isoprene styrene) on a global scope to support Chemical operation business plan.
- Lead mentor and develop the team of procurement professionals fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee and manage procurement operations within the Chemical Division ensuring global direct and indirect category strategies are implemented at the right total cost of ownership.
- Achieve yearly cost saving or value targets appropriate to the category aligned with annual budget processes.
- Primary contact for all monomer buys and negotiations. Provide the monthly allocation/pricing for monomers to support the S&OP business plan.
- Development and of our monomer sourcing strategy needed to support our annual operating plan 13 years).
- Develop and maintain key relationships with all monomer global producers to position Goodyear as the customer of choice.
- Develop contingency plans with welldefined Risks & Opportunities to allow us to mitigate supplier disruptions and assure our raw requirements are covered.
- An understanding how to navigate within IHS Argus Wood Mackenzie publications.
- Understand and track the exports/imports and ARBs to Asian Europe and South America.
- Establish consistent purchasing policies procedures supplier evaluations and vendor selection criteria.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
KEY EXPERIENCE
- 510 years commercial experience in procurement strategic sourcing and/or category management.
- Successful track record with contract negotiations supplier relationships management influence and/or exceeding sales targets.
- 5 years of Supervisory experience managing a team.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferably chemical manufacturing.
- Bachelors degree in business administration engineering supply chain or a related field is required. Masters degree in business administration or a related field is desired
KEY SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills to help facilitate crossfunctional teams of a technical nature.
- Must work well in teams in an unstructured selfdirected environment.
- Position requires a working knowledge of supplier capability.
- Ability to support data collections analysis and benchmarking.
- Proven track record as a selfstarter with a handson mentality.
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL.
- Experience with any major MRP system (MS Dynamics SAP Oracle Sage JD Edwards etc..
