Willamette Family provides the full continuum of Substance Use Disorder Treatment outpatient mental health therapy Primary Healthcare Family Services Peer Support Parent Education Skill Development and Supported Housing services. Willamette Family is looking for Certified Peer Support Specialists for Withdrawal Management in our Buckley Detox program. This position is a part of the expansion of our current services. The Buckley Detox Program has a new building underway! With the construction of our NEW Buckley location that will allow for an expansion of crucial substance use treatment services for our community.

Summary of Position

Peer Support Specialists (PSS) provide direct support to identify and remove barriers to recovery for individuals participating in Willamette Familys (WF) treatment programs. PSS model and teach concepts of health promotion (such as physical mental and social wellbeing) . This position is integrated into our withdrawal management program and stabilizing residential treatment.


Position: Fulltime 40 hrs./ week

Employment Type: Employee (W2 Hourly NonExempt

Shift and Schedule:Must be available for Day and Swing shift hours

Weekend work may be needed.

Compensation: Starting wage is $21.00/ Hour


Position Qualifications:

  • Must be on the Oregon Health Authority Traditional Health Worker Registry or registered with MHACBO as CRM.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals in substance use disorder treatment services preferred
  • Valid drivers license and 3 year consecutive driving history free of driving infractions

Employment Requirements:

  • This role requires Certified Peer Support Specialists to be available onsite; Must be located in the Eugene OR area or be willing to commute.
  • Background Check Approval from the Department of Human Services (Initiated postoffer)
  • Preemployment Drug Screening (including Cannabis/THC) (Initiated postoffer)
  • Effective 03/28/2025 Willamette Family has a required 12 month waiting period for Peers Support Specialists before former clients can apply for employment. This policy is in place to ensure professional boundaries and avoid potential conflicts of interest. Your response will not impact your eligibility beyond this requirement and all information will remain confidential.

Requirements

Essential Duties

  • Identify individual client barriers to participation in WF services (includes but is not limited to crisis intervention/deescalation supporting clients and developing strategies to overcome barriers)
  • Coach and support clients to access and connect with community supports and resources (includes but is not limited to selfhelp and/or support groups)
  • Model professional communication skills with clients all WF staff and community partners (includes but is not limited to maintaining a professional attitude through electronic and interpersonal conversations interactions and documentation)
  • Document and input client information according to organization policies and procedures (includes but is not limited to electronic file maintenance client notes logs and rosters)
