Job Description

STARTING JULY/AUG 2025 We are looking for an adventurous couple team to work as Yachtmaster Ocean qualified Captain and Cook/Stew alongside the owning couple as they set sail on their circumnavigation dream on the upcoming Oyster World Rally 2026.

The owners will be retiring for summer 2025 and aim to spend that summer around Rhode Island trialling crew living aboard and getting well prepared for the rally. They are both experienced and hands on sailors but without the qualifications. The crew would be happy to work alongside owners who essentially like running their own boat.

Ideally both candidates will have a genuine passion for sailing and a good history of hands on sailing experience. They will be used to long passages and able to stand a watch. For this adventure you will need to be active enthusiastic keen to learn naturally positive and organised.

Requirements

1st Mate:

Yachtmaster Ocean

Natural head for engineering and problem solving Engineering qualifications an advantage

Cook/Deck/Stew:

Level 2 Hygiene or similar preferred

Sailing qualification preferred

Hospitality experience

Practical and organised

Cooking course or good catering experience.

Yacht charter cook or similar experience will be a distinct advantage
