Job Description

Overview

Teaching Basketball Classes to children ages 613 years old.

Provides a quality experience to children focused on YMCA core values: honesty respect responsibility and caring.

Responsibilities

1. Supervises a group of school age children.

2. Planning implementation of age/developmentally appropriate basketball activities following YMCA guidelines.

3. Apply basic youth development principles in working with children through communication relationship development respect for diversity involvement and empowerment of youth.

4. Actively participate with children in all activities.

5. Insures the proper use of YMCA property and the gymnasium as well as equipment and supplies.

6. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.

9. Follows YMCA policies and procedures including those related to medical and disciplinary situations child abuse prevention and emergencies.

10. Be a role model to students and staff in your attitude and behavior.

11. Maintains positive relations with children parents coworkers subordinate staff and volunteers. Models relationshipbuilding skills in all interactions.

12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. 18 years of age.

2. Proven experience teaching Youth Basketball.

3. At least 1year experience teaching Youth Basketball classes.

4. Outgoing energetic and engaging.
