Job Description
GARNEY CONSTRUCTION
An Estimator position in North Kansas City MO is available at Garney Construction. This is a fulltime salaried position with full benefits and participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). We are seeking a selfmotivated individual to join our growing Estimating Team. To be considered for this position you must have previous estimating experience preferably in the water wastewater or industrial markets. Candidates with proven experience estimating castinplace concrete tanks underground yard piping and/or above grade process mechanical piping systems. Estimating experience with atrisk selfperforming contracts is preferred over construction manager atrisk delivery methods.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Preparing contingency and risk analysis for the estimate and prereview.
- Analyzing and compiling estimate data that impact the cost of labor materials equipment requirements location and other factors.
- Communicating estimate bid information to field operations at preconstruction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction.
- Developing and maintaining business relationships with owners small businesses subcontractors and suppliers by creating strategic alliances and increase bid opportunities.
- Ability to provide conceptual estimates from limited information.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKNIG FOR
- Preferred but not required: Bachelors degree in civil engineering construction management business administration or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency interpreting construction drawings and understanding specifications.
- Must be able to review takeoff quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates and review drawings specifications and proposed project site conditions.
