Job Description

The MA Clinician will provide crisis and respite support services to individuals in being supported by the Deaf Respite Program.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an environment that promotes safety recovery and treatment.
  • Provide psychiatric and substance abuse evaluations of individuals at the Respite site.
  • Provide clinical oversight of work performed at the respite program including participation in an oncall rotation.
  • Work with clients in a collaborative manner to develop assessments Individualized Action Plans (IAPs) Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) crisis plans relapse plans and other items needed to support their stay at the program.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems.
  • Provide information on treatment and referral services. Maintain linkages with specific community services by providing documented case consultations and problem resolution.
  • Provide transportation to appointments and other community integration opportunities.
  • Ensure the program site is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related field and at least two years experience with target population (inpatient outpatient residential acceptable).
  • Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers.
  • Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Associations Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Must possess excellent assessment and interviewing skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High energy level superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  • Must hold a valid drivers license have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
