We are searching for a dedicated dynamic teaching professionalto join our team of exceptional educators. Franklin School is an independent school located in downtown Vancouver British Columbia. We operate on a quartly system with four quadmesters from September through June (full time). The possibility of parttime work is also an option. This position is ideal for a new teacher or retired teachers and all are invited to apply.

We are searching for a dedicated dynamic teaching professionalto join our team for the following subject(s):

• English Teacher 912 (various courses including Literature Composition New Media First Peoples English Lit)
• Possibility of some Social Studies 912
• Experience teaching ELL or international students would be an asset
• Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) courses would be an asset

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and inspiring students in attaining the highest levels of engagement and academic success.

To teach at Franklin School applicants must possess the necessary qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Bachelors degree or academic equivalent in an appropriate field of study (e.g. Bachelor of Science plus a Bachelor of Education or Professional Development Program PDP in teacher education at the Secondary Level).
2. A valid British Columbia Teaching Certificate or Independent School Teaching Certificate;
3. Recent successful substantive teaching or practical experience in the relevant subject area.

Please note: courses at the 300/400 level equal to 18 credits relevant to the prescribed curriculum and a teaching methodology course in the subject area are considered necessary qualifications for the position.
