Job Description
The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a tenured or tenuretrack position in music theory to develop and teach in its new programs in music production and music business with an expected start date of August 1 2025. The primary responsibilities for the position will initially involve developing and teaching undergraduate courses in music theory for the new degree program in music business and major in music production. Eventually the candidate will also be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in music theory; supervise research in their area(s) of expertise; and maintain an active program of research and scholarly publication. The candidate will be expected to participate in departmental committees doctoral advisory committees and other departmental activities as well as serve on Jacobs School of Music committees.
