The Health and Safety Coordinator will collaborate with the WonderKids Regional Management Team and the WonderKids Administrative and Behavioral Coordinators to ensure that all appropriate safety precautions are taken and that childrens health and safety needs are met during the Summer Enrichment Program Responsibilities:Be present on site and able to assist with medical emergency and nonemergency health needsWork with (collaborate and communicate with delegate to and receive instructions from) the Administrative and Behavior Coordinators before and during the camp session to ensure a safe healthy camp environment for allEvaluate and execute preparation of nutritious snacks based on students dietary restrictionsProgram staff communicationFamily communication for any medical needsOnsite observation and support of children in the WonderKids Camp Program Other duties assigned to support Rural Arts CollaborativeDuties:Reviewing registration information and preparing informational sheets for staff about medical/allergy issues with campersPlanning for and overseeing afternoon snack preparation to ensure campers diet and allergy needs are metCoordinating with Administrative Coordinator to purchase snacks each weekOnsite observation and support of both staff and students to troubleshoot health and safety needsStoring and administering medication to campers as directed or neededOnsite program support for health and safety issues and back up support for behavior issuesDocumenting all medical or safety incidents and interventionsFamily communication regarding medical issues and interventionsParticipating in job and program evaluationEstablishing a Medical Care Station at campParticipating in staff orientation and training camp staff to recognize medical issuesProviding clean first aid suppliesManaging communicable diseasesCreating action plans in the event of an contagious outbreakDispensing medicationsAttending minor injuriesCommunicating with the parents or family members of camp attendantsFrequent health checksEnsuring the safety of everyone at campAccompanying the sick and emergency personnel to the hospital if parents are unavailableKeeping accurate medical recordsLiaising with emergency or other medical professionals as neededProviding specific health needs of campers to staff membersOngoing collaboration with the behavior coordinator to offer emotional and physical support as neededAttending to the supervision of campers when medical support is not required
