Job Summary:The Accounting Assistant II maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards current laws and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance and trains entrylevel Accounting Assistants.
Additional Department Summary:Assists with the daily processing of all revenuegenerated items as well as the daytoday purchasing and student hiring process for Housing and Residential Communities. Ensures that the student housing data is accurate and reliable at all times. Responsibilities include invoice generation collections ensuring applicable refunds are processed timely and accurately submitting pcard reports student staff ePAs and background checks as well completing I9s. Completes required training and promoting a safe hospitable and respectful workplace. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing enforcing and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.
Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and two 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associates degree or higher.
Skills and Knowledge:Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Comfortable using various technology tools. Proficient in various Microsoft programs. Passionate about continuously learning new technologies and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to adopt new technologies. Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students.
Preferred Qualifications:Intermediate/Advancedlevel knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas and pivot tables) as well as comfortable working with various business tools such as DocuSign Sharepoint Office 365 web technologies and Microsoft Power Platforms (Power BI Power Automate Power Apps).
