Responsibilities: At his/her assigned school(s) and in accordance with the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws the teachers duties shall include but are not limited to the following: effective lessons aligned with appropriate level Massachusetts Curriculum pupils interest and maintain a classroom environment conducive to instruction in the general education curriculum and the promotion of student learning and supervise pupils to insure health and safety as well as positive interaction among cooperatively with teaching colleagues to plan develop curriculum and be a contributing member of a professional learning to the proper inventory care maintenance storage of instructional materials and equipment along with other staff and actively participate in department level and full faculty ongoing communication with parents relative to pupil progress including preparation of interim progress reports quarterly grades for report cards participation in parent teacher conference days communication logs and other written telephone/personal conferences as appropriate time outside of regular school hours to prepare classes assess student work and perform ancillary engage in ongoing professional development activity at least to the minimum required for progress on the local salary scale as described in the collective bargaining agreement and to maintain state certification (recertification) including an Individual Professional Development Plan approved by the principal.10.
