Job Description
To ensure operational integrity of aquaculture research and development facilities and aquatic animal life support systems by verifying equipment function and facilities checks; responding to and correcting equipment and systems failures; fabricating installing maintaining and repairing aquaculture equipment and facilities; performing animal husbandry and related activities to ensure the health and welfare of aquatic organisms; and providing weekend holiday and emergency response coverage. Typical hiring range is $43951 to $48000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. AND three years related experience in mechanical trades or aquaculture systems.
- Must be able spend workday on foot walking around campus.
- Must be able to climb stairs and platforms and work in narrow spaces under sometimesadverse environmental conditions.
- Must be able to frequently lift 30 lbs and occasionally lift or move 50 lbs.
Preferred:
- At least one year experience in marine trades.
- At least 3 years experience in mechanical trades which could include plumbing mechanical repair HVAC carpentry or electrical.
- Basic working knowledge of aquaculture and/or fish husbandry.
- Experience performing similar duties at an aquaculture lease site or R&D facility is desirable.
- Demonstrated capacity to work alone and without direct onsite supervision.
