Scientific Communications Veterinarian

Join our creative supportive team as a ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet Scientific Communications Veterinarian. Royal Canins Scientific Communication Veterinarians exemplify the values of knowledge and respect while prioritizing the wellbeing of cats and dogs. They play a pivotal role in promoting the Royal Canin Veterinary Diet line by serving as expert partners to both internal and external stakeholders. In this role youll apply your scientific and educational expertise through veterinary nutrition to support both internal teams and veterinary professionals. Your primary responsibility will be collaborating across departments to enhance and refine scientific educational content across various platforms. As a crucial member of our Scientific Communication team at Royal Canin youll play a central role in developing highquality scientific information on pet nutrition and related technologies to improve the lives of cats and dogs.

What will be your key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Royal Canin Marketing to provide scientific support for launching new products and enhancing growth of existing products in the Weight Management and Health Management portfolios as well as General Nutrition. (Categories may change with future business needs.

  • Partner with stakeholders to create or repurpose PowerPoint presentations pointofsale documents and similar materials ensuring that they are consumercentric goaldriven and effectively use optimal media.

  • Take a leading role in curriculum development for the Royal Canin Academy developing tailored user journeys through existing content and identifying new content needs.

  • Take a leading role in learning innovation to further engage both veterinary professional and internal stakeholder education; SME for gamification workshop development etc.

  • Lead the ongoing evolution of the nutrition onboarding curriculum for new hires in partnership with portfolio leads and nutrition onboarding coordinator.

  • Update scientific content in PowerPoint presentations pointofsale materials and related resources to ensure accuracy and relevance.

  • Manage and curate scientific information for the Weight Management Health Management and General Nutrition categories including research papers market data visual resources and global Royal Canin assets.

  • Work closely with the Regulatory team to ensure timely production of compliant materials.

  • Educate new and existing Royal Canin associates on scientific and nutritional topics.

  • Develop ongoing expertise through relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) veterinary groups continuing education and selfstudy.

  • Partner with infield and national account associates to stay informed about market trends and business needs enhancing business acumen.

  • Provide escalated nutritional case consultations.

  • Collaborate with Mars Veterinary Health Strategic Accounts and Digital Sales Support team on project initiatives as required.

  • Deliver continuous bestinclass virtual Continuing Education (CE) training sessions for veterinarians personally and through coordination with KOLs.

  • Ability to travel up to 25 of the time and effectively work from home as needed.

  • Collaborate with external and internal research partners to advance scientific initiatives and global strategies.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What are we looking for

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent) with an active license in one or more states is required.

  • Preference for candidates with board certification in nutrition or small animal internal medicine.

  • Minimum of 3 years of general practice experience as a DVM.

  • Advanced knowledge of veterinary clinical nutrition.

  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills including content development and delivery in both inperson and virtual settings.

  • Knowledge of Learning Design Learning Management Systems (LMS) and using social media for educational purposes and demonstrated experience in curriculum design.

  • Experience with the Cornerstone Learning Management system preferred.

  • Proficiency in PC skills including MS Word MS PowerPoint MS Teams and Zoom.

  • Collaborative personality with high emotional intelligence adept at working crossfunctionally and building effective stakeholder relationships.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Thrives in a fastpaced evolving environment.

  • Skilled in prioritizing projects and commitments to achieve optimal outcome.

  • Capable of quickly learning and adapting to change.

  • Comfortable using and learning new technology.

Thebase pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the below range however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to market location jobrelated knowledge skills andexperience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements if eligible including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the positionand employees work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicablepolicies andplans then in effect and depending on the position offered and the employees work schedule (i.e. parttime schedule) eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Companysponsored medical dental vision and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employees eligible dependents and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental will also receivethe following paidtime off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employees work schedule):120 hours of vacation per year paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100 pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar yearand 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
