About the branch:
The Communications branchprovides a range of services to the department that supports legislation and ongoing programs. In partnership with other branches Communications develops communication strategies and designs communications plans and materials for public engagements. Across the organization the branch interacts with the wider communications community on government shared projects. The branch is responsible for writing for the Yukon website news releases newspaper and radio ads; speech writing for elected officials; social media; and production of graphic materials for new and existing programs. They also handle media relations and organize events.
About the job:
This position is responsible for providing a full range of public relations social marketing and professional internal and external communications functions and services to the Sport and Recreation Branch Yukon Public Libraries Community Services Human Resources and Health and Safety and other divisions and branches as required.
Additional Information:
Conditions of Employment: Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Job Requirements: Ability to travel to locations across Whitehorse and in several communities.
