Job Description

Challenger Discovery Program Facilitator (PartTime Temporary Casual)

Position Reports toYouth Engagmement Program Manager

Location: Pottstown Campus

**This position requires the selected candidate to submit the PA State Police check the Child Abuse Clearance and the FBI Fingerprint check to HR prior to the first day of employment.

Basic Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Youth Engagement Program Manager at Montco Pottstownthe Parttime Challenger Discovery Program Facilitator is responsible for the facilitative support of Montcos youth STEM programming (Discovery Programs) and Challenger Learning Center programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily facilitative support with Discovery Programs and Challenger Learning Center simulationbased missions both inperson and virtual.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all technology used in Discovery Programs and Challenger Learning Center that comply with local state and federal guidelines to provide for safe physical and online learning environments.
  • Provide facilitative and administrative support for Montco summer camp programming.
  • Assist in the development of future Discovery Programs.
  • Represent MCCC at local & regional community fairs and other related community outreach events as requested.
  • Provide Youth Engagement administrative support where and when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE &SKILLS:

Education/Training/WorkExperience:

  • Bachelors degreerequired.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in classroom and/or informal educational settings using computerassistedinstruction.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE &SKILLS:

  • Desire to work with children of all ages as well asadults.
  • Passionate about higher education particularly inSTEM.
  • Experience withSTEMprogrammingfor youth.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess an outgoing and enthusiasticpersonality.
  • Amenable to flexibleweeklyschedule; ability to work occasional evenings weekends and someholidays.

Demonstrated abilityto:

  • Communicate effectively with children andadults.
  • Work in multiculturalsettings.
  • Conduct effective classes anddemonstrations.
  • Lead public programs with strong presentation and communicationskills.
  • Adapt during program delivery to satisfy realtimescenarios.
  • Troubleshoot and learn newtechnology.
  • Work independently as well as in a teamenvironment.
