The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. Driven by its mission to end cancer as we know it the institute is building upon its expertise in targeted treatments to advance the early detection of cancer when the disease is most treatable.
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching research patient care outreach and public service.

To provide patient care in accordance with allied health privileges granted by OHSU. The practitioner is under the supervision of the Section Head for Community Oncology and provides patient care consistent with the credentials and the philosophy of the Department of Medicine University Hospitals and Clinics.
The practitioner functions in a manner which maintains the confidentiality and privacy of each patient promotes a positive relationship with all health team members and supports the policies and procedures of the University Hospitals and Clinics.
Allow for additional provider coverage in our Community Oncology Clinics. Seeing up to 15 patients a day address urgent needs and evaluate the patient situation and determine the tolerance of the treatment review labs and modify orders as needed. See new patients in conjunction with attending physician. Write chemotherapy orders when treatment plan has been initiated by attending physician in compliance with credentialed privileges. Manage patient anticoagulation as appropriate. Work closely with phone triage staff to manage patient issues and problems and see patients emergently as addon/walkins as appropriate or requested by attending physician. Admits patients to community hospitals as appropriate in collaboration with attending physician. Rounds on patient in community hospitals as requested by attending physician in compliance with community hospital credentialed privileges.
Education & experience:
Required: BLS Certification.
Recommended minimum of one year experience as a nurse practitioner. Minimum of 1 year oncology experience.
