JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Morgan Academic Center (MAC) is accepting applications for Academic Mentor positions throughout the 202425 academic year. The ideal candidate should be able to work with a diverse population of studentathletes to assess and improve their educational needs. This may include but is not limited to study strategies goal setting time management organization notetaking reading study and test preparation selfmonitoring selfadvocacy and critical thinking/problemsolving.

As an Academic Mentor you will be responsible for working with your scheduled appointments with assigned mentees weekly completing session reports to provide updates and feedback to MAC counselors and staff and attending monthly meetings/trainings. Mentors must comply with all related MAC Penn State B1G Ten and NCAA policies/procedures.
The position offers a flexible schedule with a maximum of 20 hours per week and a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week including the possibility of evenings and Sundays.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988 Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security such as those concerning alcohol and drug use crime prevention the reporting of crimes sexual and other matters.
