Unipart secured the contract to run the new custombuilt Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire at the new Mercia Park campus one of the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer.


As General Manager you will deliver worldclass standards in cost quality and delivery and you will focus on activity in support of our strategic growth and development. You will be fully accountable for the performance and management of warehouse operations and will have the opportunity to define plan manage and sustain organisation and operational change and transformation projects that will truly make a difference.

A full 360 role you will manage all aspects of the Distribution Centre covering inbound and outbound processing warehouse management distribution management internal quality control returns processing and stock integrity safety budget Unipart Way and compliance.


General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
  • Take the lead driving and embedding sustainability actions on your site(s) in support of our commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030 and our pledge to reach carbon net zero by 2050 or sooner
  • Ensure The Unipart Way is implemented and embedded across the site and use the principles to ensure operational excellence
  • Drive the adoption and use ofdigital applications and automated solutions tosupport and embed our Warehouse of the Future vision
  • Embed a culture of employee engagement across the site; where the site is considered to be exemplary
  • Manage Senior Operations Managers and their direct reports
  • Ensure that resource skills and levels are consistent with medium and longterm business plans
  • Overall accountability for operational performance to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
  • It will be your responsibility to ensure that the operating budget is set and managed within targets
  • Overall accountability for compliance with legal and ethical people management practice
  • Responsible for effective twoway communication processes with team customer and suppliers

About You:

Wed love you to have the following skills and experience but please apply if you think youd be able to perform well in this role!

  • Experience at operating at a senior level in a 3PL environment
  • Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the required standards and performance
  • Solid experience in defining planning managing and sustaining both organisation and operational change and transformation projects
  • Resilience in ability to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environment evidenced by previous experience in a fast changing volume driven working and customer environment
  • Commercial acumen to understand challenge and manage financial decision making
  • Clear leadership skills to inspire with energy and passion within and across Senior Leaders and their teams
  • Proven effective relationships with client / customer
  • Flexibility and ability to deal with change
